Three gifts together...

Our VBS kids raised $252 for mission and together we were able to purchase tons of stuff for two great organizations! Here is just some of it...

The youth group celebrating Jeff's return after his difficult surgery. I love seeing their friendships grow and stretch.

We are just a few weeks away from celebrating Granny and Poppa's 65th wedding anniversary. What a beautiful gift their love and legacy are to all of their many children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Three gifts learned...

Labels are a good thing.

Little book of verses I've memorized so far this year. So thankful for a good friend who set up a little accountability group to work on these with. What a blessing.

Amazing reminders, confirmations and lessons learned in the these books.

Three gifts hanging down...

I thought this one was gone forever. It is the necklace Todd gave me when Gabe was born. Yesterday I was doing a summer cleaning purge in my room and found this in a small gift box. So very thankful.
My happy, colorful curtains courtesy of Pinterest.

The hoop. Hours of practice, talking and fun.

 Three gifts of stone...
Dakota's memory stone. The phrases are Grant's exact words. Precious.

This pestle and mortar was given to me by my sister in law, Melissa.  It has been reminding me to pray for her today as their family makes the big move to Michigan.

Baking stones. Well loved over the years. Memories of lots of cookies, biscuits and other goodies baked and shared.

Three gifts curled...
Wispy, curly clouds.

Melissa has a collection of Grandma Cotton's old thread.
Curly strands, reminders of family ties.
Received this coloring sheet from our boy in Swaziland today.
The curly antenna made me smile. Perfect timing.
God is good like that.

A gift of life, growth, decline...
My surviving Calla Lily.

Grant seems to be growing everyday. In height and in so many other ways.
In just a few short weeks he will officially be a teenager.

Saw a little decline in the numbers here this week.
It was a great encouragement after weeks of exercise and
mostly eating right.

Three gifts in jars...
My favorite homemade pickles. The recipe is from my mother in law,
the cucumbers from my friend Theresa's garden. Yum.

While I don't love needing to take thyroid medication everyday,
I sure am thankful that it is readily available to me.

Baking is my favorite stress reliever. These jars hold my some of the most
important baking staples. Familiar friends.

I love drinking water from a mason jar.  I learned it from my friend Amy. Clean water is a remarkable gift.

A gift in challenge, conflict and change...

In challenge...
It was good to remember today that even in areas that are hard for me, like self discipline, gratitude for the stretching, growing and improving, no matter how slow or small, is important.

In conflict...
This blog post by Shaun Groves served as a good reminder of true peace. I've tucked it away for future reference.

In change...
These four families that we deeply love have either moved or will be moving far away from us this year. God has given each of them new opportunities in their new states and we are truly thankful for His provision and leadership, but boy, are we going to (or already do) miss them. It's not always easy to be thankful for change. I'm trying. (photo credits-I stole all of these pictures from their Facebook pages without asking, but they love me too, so it will be ok- :) )

Three gifts in perseverance...

This face....
Becoming this face after a long day of adventure.

A life of quiet persistence and beautiful perseverance. Thankful for the lessons we learned at the museum today and the conversations brought about by our visit.

Working through the book of Genesis. Learning. Stretching.

A gift in faith, family, freedom...

Words from Sunday's sermon that have been a needed reminder this week.

Family-I love that they have each other.
