Perspective

I received these pictures in an email today.

Here is the text that was with them:
"Most of us have an idea of the relative size of the planets and sun,
but it's rather dazzling to see it presented this way.
I certainly thought this was enlightening.
It's a big universe.
Antares is the 15th brightest star in the sky.
It is more than 1000 light years away.
Yet amidst all this, God knows when each sparrow falls. He cares about our smallest problem, our biggest hurt, our every joy. But we need to see our lives and ourselves in perspective. WE aren't the center of the universe. God is. We don't own our next breath. God does. Humbling isn't it?"

It brings some incredible perspective to how big our God is, how little I am, and how absolutely amazing it is that He loves me the way that He does. Even though the vastness of our universe really is beyond my comprehension, He still sees me, hears me, and never leaves me alone. This just made me want to praise Him, so I had to share.

  3. Unbelievable...well, I guess it's very believable that I'm not the center of God's universe. Still, amazing that He cares about me in the midst of the greater things He's got going on!

  6. This is truly amazing. We are right now in the process of studying the planets and made balloons to represent each one. The pictures show even more vividly the vast difference in sizes of the stars and planets. Perfect timing. Wow!
