He's a Boy!!!

Last Tuesday was a very special day at our house. We had our ultrasound and found out that our little one is indeed the brother Grant has been hoping for.

Our appointment was in the afternoon, so I kept myself busy in the morning shopping for maternity clothes. I found some great deals. Staying busy helped keep my mind occupied.

Finally appointment time arrived. We were all so ready. Our technician is wonderful. She measured, typed, and explained all of the details to us. Grant watched everything quietly, but with full attention. Our little one was very active. He did two complete flips while she was measuring, so it took a few extra minutes to get a good look at his spine. While she was checking the back bone, she said "Well, I'm going to take this picture now while he's being cooperative- He's a boy!" I looked over to see Grant's expression and nothing seemed to be registering. So I said "Buddy, did you hear what she said?" He said, "Oh (eyes getting bigger), she said it was a boy!" He started smiling so big. He had wanted a boy so badly, but he was convinced it was going to be a girl. So convinced, that I don't think he could actually believe she said "it's a boy." I wish I had a picture of the look on his face when the news registered.

What a blessing it is to say that everything looked just right~ spine, palate, brain, heart. We are so very thankful! He is measuring about 10 days ahead of his due date and already weighs around 1lb, 1oz. We got a special bonus- a 3d picture of his sweet little face.

After the scan, we met with Dr. H. She was very positive and said everything looks just right. He is still in a breech position, but he should have plenty of time to switch before May. We left the office and started making phone calls. Grandparents, siblings, friends! What a gift to have so many people celebrating with us.

That evening we went out to pick out our little guy's first outfit. Again we found some great deals- so he ended up with more than one. After I picked Grant up from school on Wednesday we bought a few more outfits. My son, who hates to go shopping, actually requested to go look for something for his baby brother.

Since our Mac, with all of our photos since Christmas, is at the Apple store, I have no pictures to post of our cute little outfits, but those will come soon~ hopefully.
